One of the key factors that makes Dictor | Martin as unique as our clients is the due diligence process we employ: Carefully selecting the team members and investment solutions that will best help us implement our clients’ plans.
We regularly utilize the services of outside money managers to deliver the diversified investment solutions our clients require and expect. We believe that in most cases, investments placed directly with money managers offer greater diversification and flexibility for tax planning at a lower overall cost than most publicly available mutual funds, and most of our clients have the net worth required to benefit from these programs. We conduct careful research to find the best fit for our clients’ individual needs.
We begin our due diligence using the resources of our broker/dealer, LPL Financial (LPL). LPL’s extensive research department screens and approves only those money managers who meet strict guidelines for performance, style, compensation and management expertise. From LPL’s approved list, we then conduct our own screening, looking for the style and performance that will best suit our clients. As a third level of screening, we often conduct on-site visits ourselves to selected money managers, so we can personally speak with key decision-makers about their operations, philosophies and outlooks for the future. We rigorously document these meetings, so we can determine where and how to use these money managers in our clients’ future investment programs. After we approve a particular money manager, we continue to monitor their performance and stay in regular contact with them to ensure that their programs will continue to meet our clients’ needs.
We employ a similar research process regarding annuity and life insurance programs, because we will only recommend to our clients those programs that we feel offer the best value for a client’s individual needs.
And if our client is looking for a CPA or an attorney – key members of the team – we can recommend a short list of professionals whose services we have found to be reliable and who deliver the high level of expertise that our clients deserve. We do not receive any referral fees for this service, and we never pay referral fees when attorneys and CPAs recommend their clients to us. It’s simply another measure of due diligence that we provide to our clients.
