It’s all about the word “unique”. Your needs, your goals, your dreams – they are all unique to you.
And because we understand that, our approach for helping you determine and meet your goals is personal and unique as well. First, we get to know you on a personal level, then we work to understand your financial picture. Once we are clear on the unique details of you as a client, we then turn to formalized, established standards to analyze your financial picture. As a result, our clients get personal results that are also consistent and predictable.
The Three P’s: The core of our operating philosophy
• People: The Dictor | Martin team, outside professional money managers, attorneys, CPAs – you need and deserve a talented, experienced, enthusiastic and cohesive team that works together to achieve the best results for you.
• Process: Our Personal CFO process is based on disciplined fundamentals to ensure that you get the best objective result to meet your needs. We believe in rebalancing assets, using professional money management, and minimizing income and estate taxes.
• Plan: Our relationship with you starts with a plan -- we continuously challenge and test every element of that plan to ensure that nothing is overlooked and that the plan stays fresh.
The Personal CFO System
Our four-step process closely follows the process endorsed by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards
1) Discovery: This is the “getting to know you” stage of our process. It’s when we get to know you and your core values… and you get to know us and how our experiences shape how we handle your financial picture. This step usually takes more than one meeting.
2) Design: This is when our firm analyzes what we’ve learned about you, and conducts research on appropriate solutions, constructing a comprehensive plan to help you achieve your financial life goals. This stage is truly a team effort, because we enlist the help of trusted professionals outside our firm to help design a plan to best suit your needs.
3) Implementation: Now it’s time to implement the plan we designed in the Design stage. As part of our service, we assist with account transfers, repositioning of investments, and meeting with your attorney and tax professional, if appropriate, to discuss additional strategies.
4) Communication: We contact our clients in some form more than 75 times per year, in the form of phone calls, e-mail updates, newsletters, meetings, and more. We strive to ensure that our clients are always informed, and always have a venue to have their questions answered.
This process repeats continuously over time – we constantly review it with you to see if circumstances have changes, requiring modifications to your plan’s Design and Implementation.
While our Philosophy and our Personal CFO process have been developed over years of experience, we are always looking to improve. We draw upon the advice of business coaches and even our own clients – through annual Client Advisory Council meetings – to constantly evaluate our business and services. We welcome your feedback!
