HOW WE ARE COMPENSATED
Your Personal CFO

In a corporation, the chief financial officer (CFO) is the executive responsible for the finances of the business -- he reports to and takes direction from the CEO. The CFO helps ensure that the overall financial goals and mission of the company are being met in a sound, responsible way. Though the CEO may understand how to manage the finances himself, he knows that it is a better use of his time and resources to delegate those responsibilities to the CFO so he can focus on the larger mission of the corporation.

As a financially successful individual, you are the CEO of your own “personal corporation” that can benefit from a Personal CFO – someone who can help you intelligently prepare for the future, with the level of personal service and attention to your specific goals that you deserve and should expect. Just like a corporate CEO, though you may have the education to manage your financial issues, outsourcing those issues to an experienced Personal CFO enable you to focus on the more important issues in your life – your family, the peak of your professional career, your community contributions, or simply … relaxing.

Our Personal CFO services are specifically tailored to each client’s individual needs. Through our discovery and research process, we assess a client’s situation and consider strategies to address the following:

• Budgeting: To help you manage your current and future cash flow needs, from your working years through retirement.

• Cash management: To make sure you have cash when you need it to meet short-term goals (new car, boat, summer home, investment property, extended vacation, etc.) as well as your on-going income needs.

• Investment management: To provide you with a well-diversified investment strategy tailored to your individual needs -- it’s monitored regularly and adjusted as your needs and goals change.

• Debt management: To assist in evaluating and even securing financing options for significant acquisitions and to advise on the proper timing to pay down or pay off debt in order to meet other short- and long-term goals.

• Accounting & financial reporting: To ensure that all significant income is received and bills are paid when expected, and to monitor financial progress in written form on a periodic basis. We stay in regular contact with you, and we respond quickly and appropriately as your needs and economic conditions change.

• Tax planning: To involve your CPA as a key member of your financial team and to work with them in developing financial strategies that will achieve your goals with tax sensitivity in mind.

• Risk management (aka insurance): To help you evaluate your risks, both during your working years and after you retire, and to recommend appropriate strategies for the protection of your assets, your income and the needs of your loved ones in the event of a disability or death.

• Strategic planning: To help keep you and your team focused on those life goals you consider most important. Your “team” will include us as Personal CFOs, your CPA, your attorney(s), and (often) key family members. We help you to evaluate and integrate all issues that may impact your financial future, and we coordinate your team’s efforts to make sure those issues are addressed currently and through the legacy you may wish to leave behind.

At Dictor | Martin, our philosophy is simple: to help you successfully achieve your financial goals and dreams.
